Emma Geary, AKA Anarkitty was born in Ballycarry in 1977. She graduated from the University of Ulster Belfast in 1999 and moved to London. During her six years there her illustrations and character work appeared in many publications, including Creative Review, Computer Arts and DPI (Taiwan) magazine. MTV, ATL, BBC and Pictoplasma where some of her clients.

Frequently taking part in Art/Design Collective exhibitions solidified her desire to take her characters to a different Level. Now back in Northern Ireland her attitude filled ladies have become the main theme in her paintings.

The name Anarkitty was born from her love of cats. Their self gratifying , aloof and esoteric attitude encased in elegance and cuteness are traits Emma includes in her work. The colourful flowing simplicity of her artwork adds a backdrop to the complexity behind a look or a glance, which she encapsulates in her ladies beautiful and beguiling eyes, in turn leaving the onlooker to decipher their own personal meaning.
